Thai soldiers blocked from entering Cambodian territory near border markers 46 and 47
Banteay Meanchey, September 30, 2025 – Cambodian authorities and local villagers successfully prevented Thai soldiers from encroaching upon Cambodian territory near border markers No. 46 and No. 47 on Tuesday morning.
According to local sources, a group of Thai soldiers escorted land surveyors into the area near border marker No. 46, located in Sugar Cane farm, Chhouk Chey village, O’Beichon commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province. However, unarmed Cambodian forces immediately intervened and pushed them back, preventing any land measurements from taking place. Following this intervention, the Thai troops withdrew.
A separate group of Thai soldiers also attempted to approach border marker No. 47 but were met by unarmed Cambodian frontline forces as well as local landowners and residents, who remain on constant alert to safeguard the integrity of Cambodia’s territory.
After the withdrawal of Thai troops, the situation returned to calm. Nevertheless, Cambodian villagers living along the border affirmed their readiness to defend their land and homes at all times.
