Prime Minister Hun Manet: “Wars Cannot End Through War”

Phnom Penh, September 26, 2025 – Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet has underscored that war can never be ended by war itself. Drawing on Cambodia’s own protracted history of conflict, he stressed that only peaceful negotiations can provide a sustainable solution that allows displaced citizens to safely return to their homes.

The statement was made in the official press release summarizing the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting held on September 26, 2025.

In the announcement, the Prime Minister also reaffirmed the Royal Government’s unwavering position of adhering strictly to international law in resolving border issues through peaceful means.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed gratitude to all relevant ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the State Secretariat of Border Affairs, the seven provincial administrations along the Cambodian-Thai border, and all branches of the armed forces. He praised their contributions in safeguarding Cambodia’s territorial integrity, addressing refugee issues, ensuring public safety, and urged that this collective effort be continued.
