Phnom Penh – The Royal Government of Cambodia has formally and categorically rejected recent allegations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, which claimed that Cambodia violated the ceasefire agreement concluded on July 28, 2025 in Malaysia. In an official statement released on July 30, by Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Kingdom strongly dismissed what it referred to as “fabricated claims,” reaffirming that at no time had Cambodian armed forces undertaken any actions that could be interpreted as a breach of the agreed ceasefire.

The statement reiterates Cambodia’s firm rejection of continued false accusations and underscores its consistent efforts toward promoting peace and preventing further hostilities. “Cambodia has earnestly endeavored to reach an agreement for the cessation of all armed hostilities, to prevent further needless loss of lives and suffering of tens of thousands of people who are displaced by the fighting,” the Ministry affirmed.

The Royal Government also expressed its gratitude to Malaysia, the current Chair of ASEAN, for taking swift action to facilitate the establishment of a ceasefire monitoring mechanism. This mechanism is intended to ensure effective implementation of the ceasefire through independent verification and reporting. Cambodia welcomed the support of all ASEAN Member States and other interested countries in upholding a lasting ceasefire.

To demonstrate its transparency and commitment to peace, Cambodia, with the cooperation of the ASEAN Chair, hosted a site visit on July 30, 2025 for foreign diplomats and Military Attaché Corps. The visit, which extended from Phnom Penh to the border area of An Seh, aimed to provide firsthand observation of the ground situation and Cambodia’s compliance with the ceasefire. The initiative was presented as evidence of Cambodia’s sincerity, openness, and determination to fully implement the truce and save lives.

The Cambodian government concluded by reaffirming its unwavering dedication to the principles of international law, peaceful dispute resolution, and respect for national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and mutual dignity between nations.

This strong response from Cambodia seeks to dispel misinformation and reiterates its commitment to fostering regional stability through peaceful means.
