AKP | Phnom Penh, June 27, 2025 –Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed the Royal Government’s continued commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), acknowledging their crucial role in Cambodia’s development.

“SMEs cover a wide range of economic activities, create jobs, generate income, reduce migration, and promote both national and social economic development. Their contributions are vital to Cambodia’s growth, and the Royal Government will continue to support their future progress,” he stated during a get-together and solidarity dinner with around 5,000 SME representatives from across the country, on the occasion of the 2nd National Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, Phnom Penh, this evening.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed that SMEs play an essential role as Cambodia prepares to graduate from Least Developed Country (LDC) status by 2029. He noted that achieving this milestone requires strong contributions from the SME sector.

He also encouraged SMEs to diversify their activities and integrate into national and regional supply chains. The Royal Government, he said, has been actively working to facilitate business registration and create an enabling environment to support their expansion.

Oknha Te Taing Por, President of the Federation of Associations for Small and Medium Enterprises of Cambodia (FASMEC), expressed gratitude on behalf of the SME community for the government’s continued support and efforts to promote the sector.
