H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha: RCAF Ready to Defend the Nation

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the National Defence H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha said the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) are ready to defend the nation at all circumstances.

“The Thai military has accused our RCAF of turning their weapon on Thai military bases and barracks. This is Cambodia’s national defence strategy. When we were armed, we have to protect our territorial integrity. The goal is clearly to target the enemy. No army has ever turned weapon on their own motherland,” he shared on his social media this afternoon.

H.E. Gen Tea Seiha said the peaceful option is negotiations between the two governments, both politically, economically and in other areas, while the military is the last option.

“We are ready to defend Cambodian territory without any ambition to invade neighbouring countries”, he said.

At the same time, the Ministry rejected a fake news circulating online that Thailand is preparing to invade Cambodia today.

The Ministry also urged the citizens to remain calm and to rely only on information released through official and verified sources.
