Cambodia Committed to Ocean Sustainable Development
Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has underscoring Cambodia’s strong commitment to ocean governance, sustainable development, and climate resilience.
In Cambodia’s national statement at the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), held in Nice, France on Monday afternoon, the Prime Minister highlighted Cambodia’s ongoing efforts to protect marine ecosystems and ensure the sustainable use of ocean resources. He pointed to recent legal reforms, which reflect the country’s dedication to aligning national frameworks with global sustainability goals.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet further stressed the importance of multilateralism and international cooperation in tackling ocean-related challenges, including pollution, biodiversity loss, and the impacts of climate change. He called on the international community to enhance support for small and developing coastal nations through technology transfer, capacity building, and fair access to marine resources.
In addition, the Premier reaffirmed Cambodia’s readiness to work with regional and global partners to ensure the long-term health and sustainability of the world’s oceans for present and future generations.
