Ministries Join Forces to Boost Farming Communities and Model Villages

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology; and the Ministry of Rural Development convened the 4th Inter-Ministerial Meeting on May 29 to coordinate policies and actions aimed at advancing modern agricultural communities and model villages.

Held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the meeting was co-chaired by H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; H.E. Chhay Rithysen, Minister of Rural Development; and H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology. The event gathered senior officials from the three ministries, representatives from relevant institutions, and members of community cooperatives.

The meeting focused on reviewing the joint working group’s progress report following the 3rd Inter-Ministerial Meeting, discussing the draft three-year action plan for 2025–2027, and preparing the five-year Strategic Framework for 2026–2030.

H.E. Dith Tina commended the working group for its strong cooperation, clear prioritisation, and proactive planning.

“These collective efforts have significantly improved the livelihoods of local people, generated economic benefits, and inspired continued progress,” he said.

The inter-ministerial working group was established to promote closer collaboration and increase efficiency among the three ministries. Its mission is to enhance rural livelihoods, drive economic growth, and contribute to the implementation of the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy.
