Dr Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, emphasised on social media on February 17, 2025, that providing clean water to the people is a task that the Royal Government has given considerable attention to for many mandates.

Consequently, the Royal Government has established a water supply network encompassing numerous areas in both capitals and provinces throughout the country.

However, due to population growth, the demand for clean water is steadily rising, particularly in rural areas and newly developed regions surrounding large cities and towns.

To meet the increasing demands of the populace, the Royal Government has consistently invested in enhancing the capacity to produce clean water.

Recently, as the head of the Royal Government, the Prime Minister has decided to allocate a budget of $60 million over three years at the request of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, aimed at expanding clean water infrastructure and networks to provide for the people in five provinces, which include:

1. Kampot Water Authority, Kampot Province

2. Svay Rieng Water Authority, Svay Rieng Province

3. Stung Sen City Water Authority, Kampong Thom Province

4. Mondulkiri Water Authority, Mondulkiri Province

5. Pursat Water Authority, Pursat Province

The Premier indicated that the Royal Government will continue this initiative step by step until the clean water network can comprehensively cover the entire country in the future.
