Samsung C&T Corporation Mulls Investing in Cambodia’s Transport Infrastructure

As Cambodia aims to secure more investments to boost development in the country, Samsung C&T Corporation has expressed interest in investing in Cambodia’s transport infrastructure sector.

On January 24, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Leng Thun Yuthea, met with a delegation from Samsung C&T which was led by Han Jung Suk through video.

During the meeting, the Secretary of State informed the delegation on the current status of the various infrastructure development projects which are ongoing and future projects which will be implemented to develop transport infrastructure.

Secretary of State Yuthea said that the Royal Government of Cambodia welcomes all types of investment, especially investment in public-private partnerships (PPP) and is based on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT). The Secretary of State asked the delegation to consider the possibility of investing in the development of expressways, public transport, roads in Phnom Penh and other transport infrastructures.
