SSEZ’s Import-Export Value Increases Almost 43 Percent in 2021
The value of import-export of the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone reached US$2,234 million in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 42.75 percent, said a report from the SSEZ issued earlier this week.
“The SSEZ was committed to make the rapid growth of all enterprises stationed in the zone,” the company underlined.
SSEZ attracts 170 enterprises and private institutions from China, Europe, the U.S., ASEAN, and other regions creating nearly 30,000 jobs.
“While preventing the spread of COVID-19 in 2021, the SSEZ has strengthened efforts to increase production and achieved an increase in profit of 42.75 percent to US$2,234 million compared to a year before,” Chinese Embassy in Cambodia noted in a Facebook post.
Established in 2008 and purportedly committed to creating multinational investment platforms for companies around the world, SSEZ is a partnership between Jiangsu Taihu Cambodia International Economic Cooperation Investment Co., Ltd. and the Cambodia International Investment Development Group Co., Ltd.
