NA votes to appoint Cheam Yeap as First vice-president

The National Assembly today voted to appoint senior lawmaker Cheam Yeap as the First vice-president of the National Assembly to replace Nguon Nhel, who passed away earlier this month.

At least 106 lawmakers attended the plenary session and approved his appointment today.

Yeap is currently the chairman of the NA’s Commission on Economy, Finance, Banking and Audit.

He is a Cambodian People’s Party lawmaker in Prey Veng province and has been elected to the position since 1993.
