Imported meat from India infested with Covid-19 virus
Cambodian customs authorities seized 3 containers of frozen buffalo meat imported from India that contained Covid-19.
The buffalo meet will be burned in Oral district, Kampong Speu in the next 2 to 3 days. This was reported by the Governor of Kampong Speu, Vy Samnang.
The Provincial Governor instructed the Governor of Oral district on the evening of July 26 to be ready to cooperate with custom officials in the destroying of the contaminated meat. Samnang emphasized that the eat must be incinerated to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
The provincial governor also called on people to ask for the source of the beef before purchase.
On July 24, the Ministry of Health warned that the virus can stay on frozen meat. Due to the massive spread of the virus in India, beef and buffalo meat from the country are now seized by customs. Khmer Times
