Cambodian national football team has scheduled to depart the country to attend a second qualifier competition in pole C at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in Bahrain tonight.

The update was shared with AKP by Mr. Keo Sareth, Secretary General of the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC), adding that the Cambodian players will have 7 days for training in Bahrain before an official competition from June 3 to 11.

There will be three contests for the second qualifier competition in pole C at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 – Cambodia vs. Bahrain on June 3, Cambodia vs. Iraq on June 7, and Cambodia vs. Iran on June 11.

This is the last competition for Cambodia to reach the second qualifier competition in pole C as Cambodia has gone through 5 matches already – scoring 1:1 with Hong Kong and losing in other 4 matches.

In pole C, Iraq ranked first temporarily, followed by Bahrain, Iran, Hong Kong and Cambodia.

According to the federation, the Cambodian football team has 24 players and is led by the Japanese coach Mr. Ryu Hirose, General Manager Mr. Keisuke Honda and other two coach assistants Mr. Phea Sopheaktra and Mr. Ouk Sothy.
