Ministry Earns US$21 Million From Mine Sector
Ministry of Mines and Energy earned some US$21 million as non-tax revenue or so-called the royalty revenue from mine sector in 2020, up about 5 percent compared to a year earlier.
H.E. Yos Monirath, Director General of Mines at the Ministry of Mines and Energy said on Monday that the royalty revenues were from the registered licences of mines including stones, sand, gravel, and excavated soil.
Although the growth rate of the revenue was slightly small, it reflected the active mine activities of each mine licence, he stressed.
The ministry has issued more than 100 licences for all types of sand businesses and 40 licences for mining exploration across the country. AKP
