Five Capital and Provinces Selected to Host SEA Games 2023 Sports

Five capital and provinces have been determined for the preparation of the upcoming SEA Games 2023 hosted by Cambodia.

The information was shared by Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC) following a recent virtual meeting chaired by Mr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Vice Permanent President of CAMSOC.

Mr. Vath Chamroeun continued that the shortlisted locations will be sent for official endorsement by Mr. Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence and President of CAMSOC very soon.

The sites include Phnom Penh capital and provinces of Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kep and Kampot, said the secretary general.

Tentatively, Phnom Penh will host many types of sports, Siem Reap will accommodate cycling, Preah Sihanouk will be the venue for Jet Ski and sailing, Kep will host triathlon, and Kampot will handle traditional boat, canoeing and kayaking competitions.

According to Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Cambodia will host the SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023 in May 2023; and there will be about 40 kinds of sports in the SEA Games.
