The Ministry of Health has designated three more provinces for mandatory mask wearing and safety distancing due to COVID-19 community threat, according to the ministry’s announcement this morning.

The three provinces include Takeo, Kampong Cham, and Kampong Speu, the source pointed out, stressing that the obligation comes into force from May 5 until further notice.

The ministry asked competent authorities at all levels to take measures to ensure the mandatory mask wearing and safety distancing and the public to take part in carrying out this obligation to prevent the COVID-19 spread.

The mandatory mask wearing and safety distancing have been so far imposed on Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kandal, Prey Veng, Siem Reap, Svay Rieng, and Banteay Meanchey.
