Banteay Meanchey, September 30, 2025 – At 10:43 p.m. last night, three explosions were heard inside Thai territory, directly opposite O’Bey Choan village and commune, O’Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, near Border Marker No. 44.

In this border zone, Thai forces have continued to conduct military maneuvers and deployments in violation of the ceasefire agreement signed with Cambodia on July 28, 2025, under the witness of Malaysia, the United States, and China.

The cause of last night’s explosions remains unknown. However, it is notable that during the implementation of the ceasefire, Thai forces have frequently engaged in provocative activities along the border, seemingly with the intention of sparking armed incidents. Most recently, on September 27, Thai troops fired heavy weapons into An Seh area, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, yet Cambodian forces exercised maximum restraint and refrained from returning fire in full respect of the ceasefire.

Authorities confirmed that despite last night’s explosions, as of 7:00 a.m. today, October 1, 2025, the situation in O’Bei Choan commune—particularly in Chouk Chey and Prey Chan villages—remains calm and stable.
