Labor Ministry and ACILS Sign MoU to Promote Labor Sector
The Ministry of Labor and American Center for International Labor Solidarity has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote labor sector in Cambodia. The MoU was signed today by Labor Minister Ith Samheng and William Conklin, country director for ACILS at the Ministry.
The MoU, according to the Minister, is an essential foundation for collaboration between the Ministry and ACILS in carrying out the government’s policies related to employment development.
All parties will work together to improve the execution of labor regulations, he added.
Samheng also mentioned some of the accomplishments made possible by the collaboration, such as organising study visits to the United States to exchange experiences related to trade union rights in hotels and casinos.
He went on to say that ACILS offered technical support through unions to have the law on trade unions amended and to strengthen trade union’s capacity through legal training courses.
